Brigid Kaelin is a musical saw virtuoso whose playing has been featured in films, theater productions, and recordings by artists from Cowboy Jack Clement to Elvis Costello. Known for her precision and expressiveness, Brigid is one of the rare saw players who can not only produce the instrument’s haunting tone, but also play accurate melodies and harmonies with intention and control.
She’s an experienced session musician—equally at home reading charts or improvising by ear—and brings the same musicality to the saw as she does to her accordion, piano, and vocals.
Brigid first picked up a saw as an eight-year-old cello student, after her father offhandedly asked if she could bow one.
Today, Brigid’s saw work adds texture and magic to projects across genres. She’s available for session work in Nashville, Louisville, and remotely worldwide.
